Global Eco-Innovation Collabration

10 Feb 2013

NanoFlex is delighted to announce that it has been selected to participate in a three-year R&D collaboration with Lancaster University through The Centre for Global Eco-Innovation.

Under this programme, we are pleased that Míriam Ferrer Huerta will be joining the NanoFlex team to work on application development of the NanoFlexTM CAVIARETM nanoelectrode system for environmental monitoring. As part of the programme Míriam will be working towards a PhD at Lancaster University. Míriam has an ideal background for the project with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a Master of Science degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (both from the University of Barcelona). Míriam will be working with NanoFlex on some of the underlying fundamental nanoscience related to the application of NanoFlex’s proprietary nanoelectrode architectures for deployment and use in a wide range of environmental monitoring situations.

NanoFlex was selected as one of fifty businesses to work intensively with the University through its researchers and graduates on environmentally friendly products and services in a radical new research centre. The Centre for Global Eco-Innovation is led by Lancaster University in partnership with the University of Liverpool and Inventya Ltd.

Each successful business has been matched with a graduate who will undertake a three-year programme of collaborative research to develop new products, processes and services for the global marketplace that have positive environmental benefits. The Centre for Global Eco-Innovation is part financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

NanoFlex is excited about the opportunity to work with the Centre for Global Eco-Innovation through Lancaster University.
